Tijara Consultancy traces its roots back to July 2006 when its predecessor, TJ Computer College was started in a small south rift town of Sotik. Following the 2008 post-election violence, the college was relocated to Nairobi but operated training on demand basis while greater focus was placed on computer related services.
In 2015, TJ Computer College gave rise to Tijara Consultancy. Tijara consultancy was registered in 2015 with the aim of providing support in the development and growth of the Islamic Finance Industry in Kenya and the region.
In 2017, Tijara Publishers was established. The Publishing arm runs the www.tijarainstitute.com blog. The Publisher also plans to start a quarterly newsletter focusing on Islamic Economics in second half of 2019. Our team of consultants are currently finalizing an Islamic Finance Q&A book which is expected to be on shelves by end of 2019.
In 2018, Tijara institute was incorporated to supplement Tijara Consultancy. The Institute is currently working with CDACC to develop curriculum for competency based Islamic Finance and Entrepreneurship. Tijara institute will start as an online college.
